GRACE Pilgrimage - Middle East 2007

-solo en inglés-

About 150 international peaceworkers, many of them based in the Peace Research Center Tamera, Portugal, including Israelis and Palestinians and two young members of San José de Apartadó will undertake a peace pilgrimage through Israel and Palestine from October 12 to November 9, 2007, led by Sabine Lichtenfels (Tamera) and Benjamin von Mendelssohn (Mendelssohn Foundation), in the last days together with Annette Kaiser (Sufi-Teacher). They will walk by foot, from Eilat through the Arava desert, to Massada, by the Dead Sea and from there through Bethlehem to Jerusalem.

What does "holy land" mean? Why is specifically this region on earth subject to one of the most persistent conflicts in history? Can we connect with the healing sources of this land and its nature? Do we know the point within ourselves that decides whether there will be war or peace? How will life after occupation look like?

The objective of the pilgrimage is to connect with the land and its healing sources, to end separation and form community, and to find a concrete vision for a Global Peace Research Village (PRV) in the Middle East. The PRV is intended as a world model in social design, ecology and technology, which shall be established within the next years.

The pilgrimage will be accompanied by an online team. Everybody is invited to participate in the pilgrimage virtually and to access diaries, photos and possibly also videos in our weblog, which you will find in our weblog:

The Pilgrimage will end on the Global GRACE Day on November 9th with a public meditation in Bethlehem and a concert in Jerusalem. You can take part in the Global GRACE Day, please look here.
